1968 – Malta. After it had been vacated by Ken Shoemaker, Richie briefly drove the Wright/Zautner #24. Apparently, Richie failed to impress the car owners, who soon fired him. They seem to have got that one wrong. Photo by John Grady.

Richie’s orange coupe was initially numbered “6”, but in order to avoid confusion with Maynard Troyer’s #6, Richie changed his number to “61”, which he made famous.
